Take the right steps to care for your feet
To keep your feet healthy, be sure to develop healthy, appropriate habits.
Choosing the right shoes and socks
First of all, we recommend that you wear comfortable shoes that fit properly and make you feel good. In fact, the friction and pressure caused by walking contribute to dry feet(1).
When shoes are new or ill-fitting, they can also cause blisters on the feet, formed by the skin to protect itself from external irritants.
If you wear high heels, make sure your shoes respect the natural curvature of your feet (2).
When you are at home, remove your shoes to let your feet “breathe”. In fact, it’s best to wear socks made of natural materials, such as cotton or wool, to prevent nail fungus. Since this condition is exacerbated by heat and humidity, it is best to wash your feet regularly and dry them thoroughly with a clean towel(1).
Providing the right foot care at home
We often forget to take care of our feet. And yet, they support us every day and serve us so well!
Once a week, you can also exfoliate to prevent calluses from forming, or rub your feet with a pumice stone if calluses have already formed.
Another way to pamper your feet while relieving tension: soak your feet in a foot bath with soda crystals or massage your feet with shea butter(3). After showering, we also recommend moisturising your feet with a suitable product.
How do you moisturize your feet?
When your feet are strained by new shoes or daily wear and tear, the skin can quickly start to feel tight and become painful. It is therefore important to take proper care of your dry feet.
To keep your feet well moisturised:
- First of all, make sure you don’t use water that’s too hot when showering or having a bath. Indeed, whilst soaking your feet in a bath can help soften calluses, hot water tends to dry out the skin(1).
- Once your feet are clean, you can exfoliate them to remove dead skin and some of the corns.
- Follow with vegetable oil or shea butter to deeply nourish the skin.
Make these habits part of your daily routine and your feet will thank you for it!

What care products are available for dry feet?
If, despite these tips, you still suffer from dry, damaged feet, don’t despair. We offer solutions to help you provide the best care for your dry feet.
URGO Filmomousse Nourishing for dry to very dry feet is a foaming cream that intensely nourishes and durably moisturises the skin on the feet. Filmomousse technology forms a breathable protective film on the skin to help and protect the skin barrier of all feet. This foaming cream also leaves a non-greasy, non-sticky finish. Apply once a day to the affected areas of the foot to restore softness and relieve discomfort.
When your feet become dry, calluses are usually the first thing to appear. This is a thickening of the skin that occurs in response to the friction and wear and tear to which the feet are subjected on a daily basis. To treat this problem, there is URGO Anti-Callus Cream for persistent rough patches and calluses: a cream to be applied once or twice a day to the affected areas, which should be cleaned beforehand, as part of an intensive 14-day local treatment. Thanks to its precision tip, this treatment targets calluses to reduce them and soften them.
If you spend a lot of time standing or walking, you may also be prone to calluses. More uncomfortable than calluses, these thickened patches of skin can sometimes cause discomfort and pain.
In response to this problem, we have created URGO Corn Protection: reusable protective finger sleeves made from elastic silicone, which contain a moisturising and softening oil to hydrate and soften the corn. The silicone used in the finger sleeves also protects the corn from pressure and friction when worn on the toes. Their composition ensures you stay comfortable and discreet all day long.
If an area other than your toes is affected by corn, we recommend using URGO Corn Protector (ages 1 year and over). This is an adhesive dressing fitted with a protective disc that shields the callus and helps to relieve pressure. Apply to clean feet and renew daily. For further relief, use URGO Corn remover (ages 16 and over) and its adhesive dressing, which contains salicylic acid to protect and treat corns, soft corns and calluses. Applied in the evening after a hot bath, its effects will help you say goodbye to the discomfort caused by a corn or a soft corn.
To conclude, remember that a healthy lifestyle, good habits and optimum moisturisation are key to looking after your feet on a daily basis. Dry, painful feet are not inevitable.
There are solutions available to help you regain soft skin and moisturised feet, allowing you to go about your daily activities without even thinking about it. Take charge of your feet and give them the care they deserve!
