Choose preventive dressings!
A weekend’s hiking in the mountains, new shoes… Blisters are just around the corner. To prevent blisters, we recommend URGO Blister Prevention cut-to-size strips, which should be applied to the area subject to friction.
Rule No. 1: Never burst a blister!
You should never burst a blister, as you risk infecting the wound. If the blister has not burst, it should be cleaned and dried by applying an URGO Blister Treatment hydrocolloid dressing to it. The dressing will then relieve the pain and promote the healing of the blister.
If the blister has burst, clean and disinfect it before applying a hydrocolloid dressing
If the blister has already burst: clean it with soap and water, disinfect it with an antiseptic and apply a hydrocolloid dressing to it. As soon as the dressing comes into contact with the secretions produced by the blister, these are absorbed and a gel that promotes healing then forms.
Wearing new shoes without any discomfort
Be careful when buying shoes; they should be neither too big nor too small. When buying trainers, it is advisable to choose half a size larger. When it comes to dress shoes, break them in gradually by wearing them for a few hours, then half a day, and finally a whole day.
