A few days before and/or at the start of menstruation, menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea) may appear. This  pain lasts one to three days and presents as cramps in the lumbar region. Primary dysmenorrhoea is menstrual pain with  no underlying gynaecological disorder.

What are the contraindications for URGOGYN?
 

- If you have an implanted device (pacemaker, insulin pump, blood glucose meter, implanted defibrillator, etc.), because the URGO rechargeable painful period electrotherapy patch may interfere with these devices.
- If you have skin lesions (irritated skin, rash, postoperative wound, recent scar, staples, traumatic wound, burn, etc.), do not apply to affected areas as electrostimulation may aggravate the skin irritation or disrupt healing.
- If you have skin sensitivity problems in the lower abdomen or back, do not apply the patch to avoid a risk of secondary burns due to an excessively high intensity settings that you may not detect due to reduced sensitivity.
- If you have cancer, do not apply to or near the cancerous or infected lesion as the current produced can promote the spread of cancer cells.
- This device is not intended for and must not be used by pregnant women.

In which cases is medical or pharmaceutical advice necessary before use?
 

Epilepsy or suspected epilepsy - electrostimulation  may trigger seizures.
Heart problems - electrical signals may interfere with cardiac signals.
Fever above 39°C - this impairs  vigilance

What precautions should you take when using URGOGYN?
 

Do not use the patch on the following areas:
- Do not apply near the heart or on the torso - electrical signals may interfere with cardiac  signals.
- Do not apply to the front  or sides of the neck (carotid artery, throat) - electrostimulation may trigger laryngeal and pharyngeal spasms leading to breathing difficulties. Carotid stimulation may cause bradycardia or unusually low blood pressure in people with vascular conditions.
- This patch is not designed for use on the head.
- Do not use on the genitals.

Consult your doctor if:
- You have epilepsy or suspected epilepsy - electrostimulation  may trigger seizures.
- You have heart problems - electrical signals may interfere with cardiac signals.
- You have a fever above 39°C - this impairs  vigilance.

- Do not use while driving or operating machinery or during any activity where electrical stimulation or involuntary muscle contraction can be dangerous.
- Do not use while sleeping - there is a risk of pain, inflammation or burns if the intensity is set too high without adequate monitoring.
- Do not use over areas with staples, implants or any metal element - this may cause burns or pain.
- Do not use in a very humid environment such as a bathroom or while bathing or showering.
- For hygiene reasons, do not share adhesive gels with other people.
- Keep out of sight and reach of children: they must not play with the device.
